Reflecting On 2017

Reflecting On 2017

Happy 2018! I’ve spent the last couple of days reflecting on the past year and planning some super exciting things to look forward too in the next 12 months. Looking back on 2017 has made me realise it was actually a pretty great year. I feel like I have come such a long way personally this year more so than any other, I learned the importance of taking time for myself and doing more of what I love. Although it’s flown by quicker than I can actually say happy new year it’s been a dream to sit down, relive the highlights and take it all in.

I fell in love with new places. Back in February we travelled to Amsterdam and I fell head over heels. I’ve never felt so inspired, motivated and refreshed from a trip so I’m already counting down the days until we go back in April. I never imagined I would love it quite as much as I did. In the summer we headed back to Paris for the week and it was a dream. It’s fast becoming one of my favourite cities. The chic street style, cafe culture and beautiful sights never get old. There was also a whirlwind trip to Disney Land and it was Although the weather wasn’t on our side nothing makes you feel happier than walking around the most magical place on earth and feeling totally carefree. I loved every single second. As well as these highlights there were many trips back and forth what feels like my second home, London. A birthday trip to my favourite seaside town Brighton and many peaceful staycations here and there!

I moved in to my dream first apartment. I think this is easily one of my biggest achievements to date even though it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. I could only have ever dreamed to be living where we are now and to wake up here every morning still feels incredible! With moving out I’ve learnt so much about myself. I’ve developed a huge love for interiors and homeware, I actually LOVE cooking and having my own space has really given me so much independence.

I’ve worked with some of my favourite brands. 2017 has been amazing in terms of the brands I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I feel so grateful to be able to have the opportunity to blog alongside working full time. A few of my favourite collabs have been Lancome, L’Oreal, Desenio and Pixi. It was also surreal to see my blog featured in Blogosphere magazine thanks to the lovely Lily. It still hasn’t sunk in to this day.

I gave myself a break. 2017 was actually the year I decided to go with the flow more and practice taking a step back. I’ve spent more time offline than ever before which totally cleared my mind and helped me to live in the moment. I felt a whole lot less anxious (YAY), said yes to more things and also said no. I’ve spent more time with family, worried less and enjoyed the little things. It really has set me up perfectly for what 2018 has in store.

After a totally chilled December eating all of the mince pies, Harry Potter marathons and festive fun I am feeling so motivated for a new year and a fresh start!

What are your 2017 highlights?
