Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

I have now officially been a Glossier girl for nearly a whole month! The Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser has to be one of their most hyped up skincare items and one that was in my basket before I could even say the whole name. I thought it would be helpful to share my first impressions if you’re thinking about picking one up.

I have fairly dry skin that suffers more so in the winter than any other time of year. I’m also prone to hormonal breakouts and sensitivity in certain areas. Overall it requires quite a lot of attention and isn’t easily pleased! I started testing the Milky Jelly Cleanser in the evenings to see just how effectively it removes makeup and cleanses my skin. I use a micellar water first to take off the bulk of my makeup before applying 1 pump of product.

At first I wasn’t so sure and was slightly disappointed in the feel of the formula. I think I was hoping for more of an oily, nourishing gel like the Oskia Renaissance Cleanser but it is definitely more of a dryer jelly texture. I prefer to apply this on a slightly damp face to allow it to loosen up a little. I do love how minimal the product is, there’s no added fragrance or colouring which means it’s super calming on my skin and doesn’t cause any irritation. It does remove makeup well and my skin always feels very fresh and well cleansed even though it doesn’t actually feel like it’s actually doing anything! Magic.

One thing I have realised is that I love this cleanser as a two part cleanse or first thing in the morning. I feel like it needs to be used alongside another cleanser to really allow my face to feel clean and nourished at the end of the day. I think if my complexion was having a really dry day I would definitely ensure I apply a thick layer of moisturiser or even a mask afterwards as it can make my skin feel ever so slightly tight. So that is something to bare in mind if you suffer from dryness.

Of course the packaging is super dreamy to look at and does the job in terms of practicality. After nearly a month of using the Milky Jelly Cleanser I love reaching for it but only wish it was a little more nourishing! If you don’t have any dryness I feel as though you will absolutely love this cleanser! I think it will last a really long time so I’m going to keep using it to see if it has any long term skin benefits.

What are your thoughts on the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser?

  • I’ve wanted to try this for a long time as well! Thanks for a great review. It’s good to know that this works best when used with micellar water or oil. I wouldn’t have known that otherwise!

  • This without doubt it a hyped up product. I have it myself and enjoy the creamy texture but by no means is it revolutionary. Quite average if you ask me! (I have oily skin btw)
