Early Autumn Makeup

Early Autumn Makeup

The cold, dark mornings are here and I’ve already seen a change in my beauty routine. My skin is feeling the effects, so I’m finding myself reaching for something a little more hydrating and brightening to banish the summer blues. I’m really enjoying testing a few new products for my early autumn makeup.

For my base I have been trying out the new Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick* and I’m in love. I would never normally have thought to try a stick foundation but this has changed my morning routine for the better. It’s super easy to use, blending into the skin like a dream and looking pretty much invisible once applied. The satin finish is dewy yet the coverage is one of the best – I’m super impressed every single morning I apply this! It’s still early days but this complexion perfecting wonder is an autumn makeup bag staple.

To brighten up my skin and add an autumn glow I’ve been reaching for the Nars Dolce Vita Blush. This has to be one of the most pigmented powders I own so a light hand is necessary! The matte dusty rose shade is the perfect autumnal pop of colour that every complexion needs. For highlighter I have been preferring more of a natural, subtle glow. The 3INA Light Gold* offering is perfect for adding a little dusting of radiance to wake up tired skin.

When it comes to eyeshadows I love a one wash wonder. The Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Alhambra is an effortless way to achieve a golden smokey eye. I love both shades either on their own or blended together as the formula is so silky. For a special occasion I like to dress up my makeup with the 3INA Cream Eyeshadow* (shade 312). The metallic cranberry finish is slightly more daring than my every day makeup which I love!

My favourite part is lips. I feel like any autumn makeup look can instantly be achieved by wearing the right lip colour. Charlotte Tilbury’s Very Victoria is the perfect transitional mauve, nude. The matte finish is so comfortable to wear as the formula is enriched with nourishing ingredients for super soft lips. For a deeper, bolder colour I have to choose the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella –  a staple autumnal red that never lets me down.

I can’t wait to expand my Essie collection this year as their shade range is enviable! I love any of their Glitter Top Coats for either an accent nail, ombre effect or all over sparkle. No others compare in my opinion!
