Sunday Morning Makeup

sunday morning makeup

My favourite time to apply makeup is definitely at the weekend. I love experimenting with new products just as much as I love creating a minimal but polished look. I am so happy with my Sunday morning makeup staples right now I just had to share them!

Every item in my Sunday morning makeup routine is usually something lightweight and minimal. I usually want to make the most of my Sunday so I like to get ready as quickly as possible whilst still looking radiant. To prep my skin I am loving the Lancome Hydra Glow Primer* and I have been using it everyday underneath my makeup. The formula is so beautiful and really brightens my skin in no time. Pairing this with a dewy foundation is such a quick fix for early morning skin!

The L’oreal Cushion Foundation* is a Sunday morning favourite. It’s hydrating, has a light to medium coverage and is super easy to blend into the skin. I always need a little more coverage so I just finish off with a concealer to cover any redness or blemishes. I love how dewy this foundation is and it’s perfect for a light weight, natural looking base to allow my skin to breathe.

The Nars Virtual Domination Palette (similar here) is what pulls this look together. Just a simple dusting of the Nars Laguna Bronzer leaves my skin looking so much healthier! I’m really enjoying a peach toned blush right now too so Nars Final Cut is an everyday staple.

In the summer I tend to live in my sunglasses which is a great way to cover up unruly brows. I’ve been taking more of a minimalistic approach and just brushing through the Pixi Brow Tamer to keep them in shape. For eyes, I barely use anything more than a simple matte brown to add in some definition. I love these little NYX Nude Matte Shadows as they are perfect for evening out my lids. I finish off with a coat of mascara to pull the look together and a rosy tinted lip balm.

What are your favourite items in your Sunday morning makeup routine?

  • I love getting to play around with makeup at a weekend, I can’t try new products on a weekday because of the chances of a makeup meltdown at work. I really want to try a cushion foundation, they seem so lovely and lightweight!

To be quite honest on a sunday I’m usually bare faced or walking around with a face mask, but when I do want to wear makeup I usually opt for a concealer, a bit of mascara and eyebrow gel!
