I’ve been using a few new products recently to make the most of them before the summer is over. Seeing as it’s the first of September already I won’t be reaching for them for much longer! As always, I’ve kept things fairly simple and natural looking as it is for a daytime look anyway.
For base I’ve been testing out the new Lancome Teint Idol Cushion Foundation* which I’m really loving. It’s not quite as glowy as the L’Oreal version but it does have more coverage which is great for my skin type. The colour I have is perfect for when I’m slightly more tanned but I also love using this a cream contour/bronzer on those paler days. More on this one soon!
Once the base is complete I use the NYX Micro Brow Pencil to add some definition to my brows and frame my face. This is a seriously impressive little pencil and I’ve actually really been enjoying using it. For eyes I have been using the NYX ‘Happy Hour’ matte brown shade all over the lid and patting H&M’s Ginger Snap over the top for a more golden bronzed look and to really make the eyes pop. Once this is all blended in I coat my lashes with my go-to Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara.
To finish off the skin I’ve been highlighting all over first with the Hourglass Incandescent Light powder before applying a light contour with MAC Harmony to the cheek bones and forehead to enhance my (hardly noticeable) natural tan. Finally I have been applying a tiny amount of the Lancome Blush Subtil Cushion Blush* in the shade ‘Sorbet Grenadine’ for a peachy pink glow on the cheeks. This is beautiful, the creamy consistency makes your skin appear so radiant and healthy which is perfect for that post summer holiday look.
To finish off the bronzed eyes and skin I’ve been reaching for the NYX Soft Matte Lipstick in ‘Stockholm’ for the perfect peachy nude lip. This really enhances the slightly more bronzed makeup and it stays in place for hours! I can’t get over how well this lip shade compliments the overall look, if you try one item from this summer everyday makeup then make it this one!
